Stellar student start-ups!

Banza.biz is a FREE service for students in Newcastle upon Tyne who are either:

  • Thinking about setting up in business
  • Studying a business module and need some help.

Whether you've already got your brilliant idea or you're just interested in the options, get in touch!

So, what do we do?

Banza.biz is a student enterprise programme specifically designed for students studying in Newcastle College, Newcastle University or Northumbria University.

We work with Young Enterprise North East to mentor quite a few of their groups through starting up student businesses as part of their enterprise module.

We organise and host a number of events to showcase student work, as well as promoting businesses set up by students, to give them the reward that they need having completed the course mentioned above; we do this through the use of a promotional bus as well as events within the universities and colleges.

We deliver a full day enterprise event to get students and tutors interested in the enterprise curriculum and then deliver a 7 week course for students and tutors as part of their Personal and Social Development curriculum, it’s fun and very rewarding and there is high demand for what we do. We mark their work and it is Ofsted’d and IV’d at the end of the 7 weeks and does account towards a student’s college or university qualification.

Workspace for young people

Due to the success of Banza.biz and a real gap in provision the PNE Centre for Young Entrepreneurs was created.

No.5 Pink Lane, Newcastle City Centre has 9 offices available to individuals between the ages of 19 and 29 who have identified business premises as something they need for their business.

£100+VAT a month all in except the telephone and even get a business counsellor, IT support, Accounts support and Marketing support for their businesses.

For more information please see http://www.pne.org/pne30/pnecye

Check out our video page for inspiration as Newcastle graduates talk about how they started their own business in the city, and our forum which lets you discuss issues and ideas with other students and young entrepreneurs.
